Abstract

The research examines the issue of the influence of instrument features on the result of optimising its configuration in spacecraft compartments. For this purpose, specific features of the devices have been identified, the control of which can provide a more efficient way to develop and improve the configuration of such devices.

The article defines a model for evaluating the effect of device features on the result of optimising their configuration. Further, the author considers the methods of optimal correlation of instrument features and develops a conceptual scheme of this process, consisting of the following stages: setting general requirements for body shapes and spatial orientation of instruments; applying methods of integration and aggregation; ensuring the applicability of instruments for universal space platforms.

The author also conducts a test optimisation of the device configuration according to the criterion of minimum total mass. As a result, the greatest effect is achieved by performing all these steps, and the implementation of each of them reduces the mass of the on-board cable network, the mass of the device mounting structure, the mass of temperature control, the mass of protection of devices from electromagnetic interference and ionising radiation.
